The Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival takes place over three days from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th May 2023 with the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas on the Saturday and the Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas and the Tattersalls Gold Cup on the Sunday.

The Irish Guineas Weekend is a thrilling flat racing meeting for thoroughbred horses held at the famous Curragh Racecourse in County Kildare, Ireland.

The Irish 2,000 Guineas was inaugurated in 1921, a year before the establishment of the 1,000 Guineas. The former is a race for 3-year-old horses and the latter is specifically for 3-year-old female horses. They are the Irish equivalent of the Guineas races held at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile and the field often includes runners who raced in the English version earlier in spring. The Curragh’s Festival is a celebration of the sport in Ireland as well as an opportunity to soak up the party atmosphere.

As it features the first Irish Classics of the flat racing season, the Irish Guineas Festival marks the exciting start of a thrilling summer of speed and stamina.
